Concept
A person uses to seek a justification of her life. A person needs to believe in her usefulness and a certain «righteous» purpose of her life. A person also needs strong social bonds, understanding and respect. All of this is known to many originators of totalitarian sects. The sects enroll quite ordinary people and very slowly pull in new adepts. First, a new adept is offered communication, friendship, participation in collective events, then he is gradually webbed into the «inner culture» of the organization. Every day a new adept turns more and more away from their former friends, hobbies and convictions. The sect gives him a «meaning of life», of course, this is a certain «righteous» mission of the very organization. The adept pays for the satisfaction of his «moral needs» with his freedom. Giving away the freedom, obeying the high priests, the adept releases himself from responsibility. This makes life «easier», a person quickly gets used to the absence of responsibility and the necessity of making own decisions. Through this «easy way» the adepts lose their will and become addicts, transforming into the «mechanisms» which obey the high priests' will. Many sects are a highly profitable business. In its turn, the business adopts the sects' psychological means of staff training, the methods of personnel motivation go far beyond the basic financial motivation. The term «mission of the company» gains yet more metaphysical hint, becoming a «righteous cause» justifying one's life. Corporate culture separates the company workers from other people, sowing the ideas of election and solidarity. Individual subtle motivation work is more practised. Personnel motivation yields profit to corporations and therefore the psychological methods of personality control constantly improve, turning the corporate staff into lifeless mechanisms.
